Yesterday was a chill day, as Saturdays are usually their day off on the farm. We set up our tent, later found it blown halfway down by the near steady 15 mph trade wind, snapping one of the metal supports in half. Thanks coleman! One of our hosts, Richard Liebmann, is a member of a 60+ softball league between the various islands. We attended a double header wherein they won one game and lost another. Richard can hit like an animal! Afterwards we went to an abandoned port that had beautiful crystal blue water and beautiful yellow fish.
The tent was interesting at night, since it fell some of the rainfly ropes got pretty loose, making it flap in the wind loudly. I tightened it up today and its much more resilient in the wind.
This morning we learned part of the process of feeding the chickens, and later we'll be learning how to collect their eggs.
I'll have a post of photos soon!
